ADT’s dancers perform classical and contemporary ballets by nationally recognized guest choreographers, as well as emerging choreographers within the company. The company emphasizes serious training for the pre-professional dancer. The training foundation is classical ballet drawing strongly from the Russian Syllabus.

Professional Dancers

Joy Kennamer Ohme

was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. She started dancing at the age of three at the Montgomery Ballet under the direction of Gary Moore and Emily Caruso. At age twelve she was accepted as a senior company member with the Montgomery Ballet. Joy danced solo and corps repertoire pieces with the Montgomery Ballet until graduating high school in 1994. Mrs Ohme spent every summer while growing up training in various summer dance programs with such prestigious companies including The Atlanta Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Birmingham Southern College’s Dance Program. In college she even joined The Montgomery Ballet in a summer exchange program and traveled with them to dance in Paris, France. Upon High School graduation Joy received a scholarship and graduated in 1998 from the Meadows School of the Arts Dance Program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX . She also joined Gamma Phi Beta social sorority while attending SMU. She then moved back to Montgomery and now teaches dance at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School and dances professionally with The Alabama Dance Theatre and guest performs with various companies around the southeastern region. Mrs. Ohme served as a committee member to develop the Best Practices in the Arts teaching manual to align the Arts with the Alabama Course of Study and the National Standards in Arts Education. She is an advisor at BTW to the Nu Delta Alpha National Dance Honor Society and she is also a member of the Alabama Dance Council. Mrs. Ohme also was a choreographer for the Youth Worship Arts program at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church under the direction of Debbie Peavy for several years prior to this school year. The highlight of her life is her husband of eleven years, Corey Ohme and their two beautiful daughters, Camilla (age six) and Caroline (age three).

Sophomore, Home School, ADT member 2010, received scholarships and attended Cincinnati Ballet and SEDAC, son of Ester Shaneyfelt.

Kaitlin Bundy

Sophomore, Prattville High School, received scholarships and attended Alabama Youth Ballet, Huntsville Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alabama School of Fine Arts, Alabama Dance Academy, accepted to American Ballet Theatre Summer Program, ACES Junior High winner 3rd place 2009, ADT member since 2008,daughter of Amy Townson and Charlie Bundy.

Stephanie Fox

Junior, LAMP, received scholarships and attended American Ballet Theatre, Alabama School of Fine Arts and Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, accepted to Birmingham Ballet and Alabama Ballet, ACES 2nd place 2008, Baldwins most dedicated level 3, 2009, ADT member since 2006, daughter of Peck and Brenda Fox.

Anna Gentry

Ninth Grade, Trinity, received scholarship and attended Louisville Ballet, attended Alabama Ballet, member of Trinity Dance Ensemble, ADT member since 2009, daughter of Jason and Melanie Gentry.

Amy M. Hargroves

Senior, BTW, attended Ballet West and American Ballet Theatre at Austin, ACES winner, ADT member since 2007, daughter of Sarah Hathaway and Kelly Hargroves.

Taylor Jordan

Ninth Grade, Stanhope High School, received full scholarship and attended Alabama Ballet, Alabama Youth Ballet, ASFA, Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education, Northwest Florida Ballet, Southeast Alabama Dance, and Inwood Dance Company, accepted to American Ballet Theatre and Dance Theatre of Harlem, ACES 3rd place winner 2010, ADT member since 2009, daughter of Paula Jordan.

McKenzie Middlebrooks

Junior, LAMP, received scholarship and attended Joffrey New York and Alabama Ballet, attended International Ballet Competition School, Alvin Ailey, Birmingham Ballet, accepted to American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey South and Julliard New York, ACES 1st place 2007 and 2nd place 2008, 5D Award at Baldwin, Baldwins Most Talented, ADT member since 2007, daughter of Alison Middlebrooks-Hartin.

Kaitlin Morasco

Sophomore, BTW, accepted to Birmingham Ballet, partial scholarships to Atlanta Midtown Centre, Georgia Southern University, ADT member since 2007, daughter of April and Josha Morasco.
